The Missouri Historical Society is seeking a dynamic and experienced museum professional to lead its K-12 Education Programs. The position leads a team that includes a full time K-12 Education Coordinator and several part time Museum Educators in providing accessible, participatory, interactive, inquiry based gallery + classroom field trip programs for tens of thousands of students each year. The position also develops strong relationships with local educators, including providing teacher professional development and a summer teacher institute. The position will play a key role in the expansion of the museum’s outreach programs to local classrooms as well. Strong knowledge of museum and education best practices, pedagogy, and youth development is needed. Project management, flexibility, and the ability to nurture strong staff development and good team dynamics are also essential skills. Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
