Overview

The Museum Attendant at the Steves Homestead will be mainly responsible for providing scheduled coverage for visitor services and conducting interpretive tours.

The Museum Attendant will serve as an informed and friendly ambassador for the site, leading individual and/or group tours to interpret the history of the site, its buildings, grounds and contents, and placing them in historical and contemporary contexts for the visitor.

The Museum Attendant will also provide staffing of the visitor center by meeting/ greeting visitors and guests, coordinating reservations for all tours and programs/ events, and processing admissions and museum shop sales.

This is a non-exempt, part-time hourly position, working designated days and hours that the Steves Homestead is open to the public, and for special programs/events, as needed.

About Steves Homestead Museum

The Steves Homestead is an historic house museum located in the King William Historic District in San Antonio, TX.  It was built in 1876 and lived in by the Steves Family for 53 years.  It has been a house museum, operated by the San Antonio Conservation Society, since 1954.  Villa Finale: Museum & Gardens will assume operation of the Steves Homestead on October 15, 2018.
